The Saint Leo University Wellness Center is a 59,000-square-foot, first class facility on the shore of Lake Jovita at University Campus. The facility was constructed to serve the university as a focal point for the development of the mind, body, and spirit in our Benedictine Catholic tradition. Here is a glimpse of what awaits you
The goal of the Saint Leo Recreation Department is to provide safe, quality programming through recreational activities that promote the social, mental, and physical well-being of our students, faculty and staff.
Our activities are open to all students, faculty and staff. A valid Saint Leo ID must be presented when participating.
- The Wellness Center includes an expansive infinity pool featuring two lap lanes, an area to play volleyball and basketball, and a shallow area for lounging.
- The patio and pool deck offer a 180-degree view of Lake Jovita with a variety of seating areas, in addition to outdoor features such as a grill and fire pit.
- The fitness area has a wide range of cardio equipment, free weights and resistance machines, including a separate area for high intensity training (HIIT).
- A variety of classes, including yoga, Pilates, and spinning, are held in the group exercise studio; mind, body, and spirit studio; and cycling studio.
- The 11,800-square-foot multipurpose gymnasium boasts an indoor walking track, and two basketball courts for basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and floor hockey. The Wellness Center Intramural program offers 10 different sports per season including basketball, flag football, softball and soccer.

Wellness Center Fitness Floor
Enjoy our 7000 sq ft facility with state-of-the-art equipment and professional trainers.
- Work out with a variety of dumbells, free weights, and machines that suit your fitness level and goals.
- Use a variety of cardio equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, stairmasters, and four different types of bikes
- Get personalized guidance and support from our certified and experienced personal trainer.
Aquatics
Enjoy a relaxing and fun experience in our pool, which is heated to a cozy 82 degrees all year long. You can swim laps in one of our two 25-yard lanes, or sit back and unwind in one of our two seating areas with soothing therapy jets. You can also spice up your pool time with our free equipment, such as kickboards, pool noodles, inflatable tubes, beach balls, and in-water basketball and volleyball sets.
The pool is currently opened from dawn till dusk while the facility is open. If dusk falls after facility closing – the pool will close 30 minutes before the facility.
Lakefront
Take the canoes, kayaks, or paddleboards out on the water; hang out on the dock or even fish. Bring a group of friends down and take advantage of the various lawn games we have available. Enjoy the picturesque view while benefiting from a little peace and quiet from your busy day at the lakefront.
