Details of the internship should be included in the posting, including number of hours required/week, location of internship, compensation, etc.
Note: Saint Leo University does not require internships as a part of the curriculum for every major, however some students may require academic credit for their internship. If a student wishes to earn credit for their internship, Career Services does not have the authority to approve - it is the student’s responsibility to reach out to their academic advisor for credit approval. In addition, if your organization requires that the opportunity must be for school credit, please indicate that in the internship description.
If an employer is hoping to hire a student for an unpaid internship, it is the responsibility of the employer to ensure the internship is in regulation with the U.S. Department of Labor under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
