University raises $1.2 million thanks to more than 1,000 donations
Saint Leo University is proud to announce a historic milestone following its 12th Annual Day for Saint Leo Campaign. In just 24 hours, the university raised a record-breaking $1.2 million from more than 1,000 donations, making this the largest Giving Day in Saint Leo’s history. This unprecedented achievement was made possible by the overwhelming generosity of alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff and friends of the university.
The funds raised will directly support more than 40 university programs and student-focused initiatives, including scholarships, academic departments like Theology and Cybersecurity, campus life programs such as Esports, and key athletic programs. This remarkable outpouring of support reflects the deep connection between Saint Leo and its extended community — and a shared commitment to shaping the next generation of leaders.
“We are deeply moved by the generosity shown during this year’s Day of Giving. This historic achievement reflects the unwavering commitment of our alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents and friends who believe in the mission of Saint Leo University,” said Stephen Kubasek ’08, vice president of University Advancement. “These contributions will directly support our efforts to provide rewarding educational experiences and expand access to students who are eager to make a difference in the world.”
More than 1,000 contributions came in from across the country, demonstrating the widespread belief in Saint Leo’s mission and momentum. The university is planning to put the funds to work immediately, further enhancing student experiences and expanding opportunities for academic and personal growth.
“We will be able to support experiential learning through classroom funds for our 290 Honors students and instructors in the Honors Program, which has become the fastest growing program on campus," said Dr. Daniel DuBois, Honors Program director. "Honors students will now be able to join the National Collegiate Honors Council, a nationwide organization of Honors programs, that will give our students conference presentation opportunities plus access to scholarships, fellowships, and educational travel opportunities."
This milestone marks a defining moment in the university’s history, as Saint Leo continues to build upon its legacy of excellence and community support, ensuring a lasting impact for future generations.
