Saint Leo Offers Two New Online MBA Concentrations
University's newest online MBA concentrations are in supply chain global integration management and risk management.
Starting with the upcoming Fall I term, which begins on Aug. 22, 2016, students enrolled in Saint Leo University's online MBA program can chose from two new concentrations: supply chain global integration management.
The entirely online concentrations are designed to provide students with the depth of knowledge and skills needed to gain employment or advance in these two exciting fields.
Supply Chain Global Integration Management
As globalization and trade increase, businesses are recognizing the impact their supply chains have on their bottom lines and are seeking employees and managers to track suppliers, goods, transportation routes, storage and distribution needs. This rising demand for supply chain professionals and their specific skills is leading to some of the highest salaries across all industries.
Saint Leo's MBA concentration in supply chain global integration management responds to this demand for knowledgeable supply chain professionals in industries across the economy, from manufacturing to distribution and retail.
The supply chain global integration management specialization is designed to provide students with the knowledge required to establish a best-in-class supply chain within their companies. The program addresses global sourcing and logistics, efficiency and effectiveness standardization, enhanced decision-making capabilities, project planning skills, and the ability to improve customer and supplier relationships.
Risk management
The MBA concentration in risk management is designed for students who are already working in the risk management or insurance fields or for those who would like to enter this service industry. The concentration prepares professionals for general manager jobs in insurance, specifically those interested in insurance underwriter positions.
Today in the United States, there are more than more than 1,800 insurance companies, and according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the median pay for insurance underwriters is $65,040. The combination of normal job growth and an aging demographic among existing professionals will make Saint Leo graduates highly qualified candidates for job opportunities and promotion.
The Saint Leo MBA concentration examines best practices for risk management principles and complex insurance policy and coverage analysis. Students learn to apply basic concepts of risk management and insurance in the workplace and how property-casualty insurance functions work together to create and deliver products. Courses emphasize topics that prepare students for achieving the Charted Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU®) designation.
Saint Leo MBA concentrations
All MBA students at Saint Leo complete seven core courses as part of the foundational program. These courses cover human resource topics, managerial economics, financial and managerial accounting, marketing, and global and strategic management.
MBA concentrations are optional and provide students with the opportunity to explore a particular field in depth and develop specific knowledge and skills by taking a specialized curriculum of five courses.

Graduate certificates
Students who already have a traditional MBA or a similar degree or comparable experience may opt for the certificate curriculum , which includes the five specialized courses plus a three-credit course covering either enterprise resource planning systems for the supply chain management certificate or organizational behavior for the risk management certificate.
