Student Government Union

The Student Government Union (SGU) serves as the official representative body of the Saint Leo University student body. SGU advocates for student interests and concerns, supports programs and initiatives that enhance campus life, and promotes collaboration between students and university administration, faculty, and staff. SGU is also responsible for the transparent allocation and stewardship of student activity funds in support of recognized student organizations and campus initiatives.

The mission of the Student Government Union (SGU) is to ensure every student's voice is heard, valued, and represented while fostering a stronger, more connected Saint Leo University community through service, collaboration, and leadership.

Student Government Union Executive Board

Student Government Union Executive Board:

  • President - Leads SGU, serves as the voice of students to university administration, and oversees the execution of all SGU initiatives.
  • Vice President of Operations - Manages Senate operations, internal coordination, attendance, and organizational procedures.
  • Vice President of Relations - Builds and strengthens relationships between SGU, student organizations, Greek Life, athletics, and the broader campus community.
  • Vice President of Finance - Oversees the SGU budget, funding allocations, and responsible management of student activity funds.
  • Vice President of Communications -Manages SGU branding, marketing, social media, public communication, and the organizational calendar.

The Student Government Union Senate is made up of 25 student positions who serves the campus community by:

  • Creating and enacting legislation pertaining to the needs and concerns of the student body
  • Regulating and managing the SGU electoral process
  • Allocating SGU funds
