Student Health Insurance

Each student attending our traditional program at University Campus full time (12 or more credit hours) is required to carry health insurance. This policy applies to commuter students registered full time as well.

Automatic Enrollment

To assist students in following this policy, the University automatically enrolls students in the University-endorsed health insurance plan and bills their student accounts. The premium for the full 2014-2015 academic year will be available here by June 1, 2014. 

Already Have Your Own Insurance?

Students with their own insurance through a group or individual plan may waive the coverage and avoid the fee. To waive the insurance, students should complete the online waiver process. Insurance waivers can only be submitted online. Insurance waivers for students enrolling in Fall 2014 must be completed no later than September 8, 2014.

Please note insurance waivers are NOT guaranteed and may be denied for various reasons. Reasons for denial include but are not limited to the following:

  • Student is attempting to waive with a travel medical policy
  • The waiver was filled out fraudulently
  • Student did not complete all information accurately and we are unable to verify coverage
  • Insurance policy used for the waiver is not comparable to the University policy

Note: International students may not waive this coverage unless they have coverage with a U.S. provider.

Important Dates

The online waiver process will be available for students entering in the Fall 2014 semester beginning July 16, 2014. The deadline to submit completed waivers for students beginning in the Fall 2014 semester is midnight of September 8, 2014. There are no exceptions to this waiver deadline.

Completing the Waiver or Enrollment Form

Please note that students will not have access to the waiver or enrollment forms until they are registered full time.
