Tedd A. “Gunny” Weiser
Tedd A. “Gunny” Weiser enlisted in the Marine Corps in December 1985 and served 20 years until his retirement in December of 2005. His numerous billets included radio communications, military instructor, maintenance management, reconnaissance, recruiting, training and operations, environmental compliance, and operational communications chief. Gunny served in Operation Iraqi Freedom as part of 2nd MEB, Task Force Tarawa in 2003 and was wounded in action in An Nassariyah, Iraq on March 23rd.
Gunny began retirement by working in the public school systems of North Carolina and Florida for the next 9 years. His positions included substitute teacher, long-term substitute teacher, teacher aide, paraprofessional, in school suspension coordinator, and testing coordinator at the high school and elementary school levels.
Gunny enrolled at Saint Leo University in 2011 and received a Bachelor of Arts in Religion in 2013. He then completed a Master’s of Science in Instructional Design in 2015, and is currently enrolled in the MA Theology program here at Saint Leo University with a graduation date of May 2016. During his time at Saint Leo University, Gunny has worked in the Learning Resource Center as a tutor specializing in undergraduate and graduate level religion and theology, executive functioning with emphasis on time management and organizational skills. In December of 2013, he began working in the Saint Leo University Veteran Student Services Office as a graduate assistant and was named Interim Director on July 1, 2014.
