1.Did you complete the Saint Leo application process? In order to become a degree-seeking student at the Center for Online Learning and use your VA benefits, you will need to read the policy and complete the following process. All students who wish to register for a course must submit an online application. Admissions will notify you when they have completed the process.
2.Did you submit to the Southern VRO in Decatur, GA your VA application? www.gibill.va.gov Click on Education Benefits / How to Apply and download the form that applies to you. Application process can take 6-10 weeks and when it has been completed, the VA will mail out a Certificate of Eligibility letter. Please be sure that the school gets a copy for your file.
3.Did you notify the School Certifying Official that you have enrolled in classes? A - L marlene.tillman@saintleo.edu M - Z ruth.turner@saintleo.edu This will alert us to submit to the VA the enrollment certification (Form 22-1999) and will need to be done each term.
4.To receive payments once classes start, you will be responsible to verify your attendance to the VA. (But only if you are receiving benefits under MGIB-Active Duty -Chapter 30 or MGIB-Selected Reserve -Chapter 1606 or 1607 Your enrollment can be verified starting on the last calendar day of the month by using the Web Automated Verification of Enrollment (WAVE) at https://www.gibill.va.gov/wave or by calling the toll free Interactive Voice Response (IVR) telephone line at 1-877-823-2378. NOTE: The WAVE and IVR systems do not update account information instantly. Instead, verifications and other submissions are stored and processed manually. Due to system procedures, it may take 2-3 workdays for the WAVE and IVR systems to reflect updates to your account. If you are receiving benefits under Chapter 32 or 35, you do not need to verify attendance using this method.
5.If you cannot log in or it says that you don't have a record on file, below are the most common explanations.
If the above reasons have not explained why you do not have a WAVE record, or if you are still unable to access WAVE after 6 weeks, please contact VA to determine the problem using the "Ask a Question" tab (in the Questions and Answers section of the web site) or by calling 1-888-GIBILL-1 (1-888-442-4551).
6.If there is a change of program then fill out the form 22-1995 and fax a copy to the VA representative at Saint Leo University at 352-588-4793.
7.If you have dropped, withdrawn or added a class, then notify your Saint Leo VA Representative immediately. If you do not notify the VA Certifying Official of the change, an overpayment may occur, resulting in a debt to the VA.
