In order to start using your VA benefits, you will need to complete the Saint Leo University-COL Online Application. The VA will not release your benefits unless you are in a degree-seeking program. Therefore, it is extremely important that you follow the admissions procedure and become a matriculated student.
How to Apply for VA Educational Benefits at Saint Leo University's Center for Online Learning
Please follow these steps when applying for your VA benefits:
1.First, contact the VA at 888-442-4551 to find out if you are eligible for benefits 2.If you are, please go to the website at www.gibill.va.gov Click on Education Benefits / How to Apply and download the form that applies to you.
If this is the first time you are requesting benefits for Chapter 30 (GI BILL) Chapter 32 (VEAP) Chapter 1606 (Select Reserve GI BILL) you will need to submit VA Form 22-1990. Send the application along with your DD-214, Statement of Service or NOBE (1606) to the VA Regional office in Decatur, GA and be sure to provide copies to the VA Rep at Saint Leo via fax or email.
Chapter 35 (Dependents/Survivors) you will need to submit VA Form 22-5490. Send the application to the VA Regional office in Decatur, GA and be sure to provide copies to the VA Rep at Saint Leo via fax or email
If you are changing schools or programs (have used your benefits before) and will use Chapter 30 (GI BILL) Chapter 32 (VEAP) Chapter 1606 (Select Reserve GI BILL) you will need to VA Form 22-1995. Send the application along with your DD-214, Statement of Service or NOBE (1606) to the VA Regional office in Decatur, GA and be sure to provide copies to the VA Rep at Saint Leo via fax or email.
Chapter 35 (Dependents/Survivors) you will need to submit VA Form 22-5495. Send the application to the VA Regional office in Decatur, GA and be sure to provide copies to the VA Rep at Saint Leo via fax or email
If you are using Vocational Rehabilitation benefits for Chapter 31 (Voc Rehab) Please complete VA Form 28-1900 Chapter 31 VA applications should be submitted directly to the VA Regional Processing Office in your district. You will be assigned a Vocational Rehab Counselor. Be sure to provide Saint Leo with this person's contact information.
3.Once you have completed the necessary forms, please mail the originals to:
