University Speaker Series Presents Environmental Educator Anthony Cortese

The University Speaker Series at Saint Leo University presents an accomplished leader in environmental education, Anthony Cortese, at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, in the Greenfelder-Denlinger Boardrooms of the Student Community Center at University Campus. His topic is “Creating a Socially and Environmentally Sustainable Economy.”
The talk is free and open to the public. Parking is also free and available in surface lots and the campus garage.
Cortese served as commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and was the first dean of environmental programs at Tufts University, outside Boston. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Tufts in civil and environmental engineering, and earned his doctorate in environmental health at Harvard School of Public Health. In recent years, Cortese has worked for environmental sustainability through a nonprofit organization and through professional networks.
