Military Publication Names Saint Leo A Top University
November 29, 2010
Saint Leo University has been selected by Military Advanced Education magazine for inclusion in its 4th Annual Guide to Top Military-Friendly Colleges & Universities.
The guide will appear in the magazine’s December issue. Saint Leo University has been included in the guide every year since its inception, in recognition of Saint Leo’s leadership in providing educational services for the military.
“This guide has become an invaluable tool for both education service officers or specialists and base transition officers when advising their service members about degree and certification opportunities currently available from institutions of higher learning,” said Military Advanced Education Associate Publisher Glenn R. Berlin.
Among the attributes considered by the magazine and its publisher, KMI Media Group, are the quality of academics, on-campus and online advice and support to veterans and their families, and the sophistication and effectiveness of distance learning programs.
Saint Leo University prides itself on excelling in all those areas. Saint Leo has been providing academic degree programs for 37 years to members of our nation’s armed forces. Today, Saint Leo serves students on military bases in seven states, and worldwide through the Center for Online Learning and distance learning opportunities. Approximately 5,000 men and women of the armed forces are currently enrolled in Saint Leo University degree programs.
On Veterans Day, Saint Leo celebrated the dedication of a new sculpture honoring its military students and veteran students, and the faculty who serve them. The work, called For Those Who Serve, is installed at University Campus.
