Two Saint Leo University Education Centers Hold Commencements This Weekend

Nearly 825 students from two Saint Leo University education centers will receive their degrees in separate commencement ceremonies this weekend. The Lake City, FL Education Center will graduate 75 students during a 5 p.m. ceremony at the Howard Conference Center at Florida Gateway College in Lake City while nearly 750 adult learners from the Virginia Region will receive their degrees during commencement exercises at 10 a.m. at the Hampton University Convocation Center in Hampton, VA.

Most students Friday evening will receive bachelor’s degrees, and two students will receive master’s degrees in education (reading concentration) and science (criminal justice: forensic science).
Robert Oellrich of Lake City, who earned his Bachelor of Arts in business administration management, and Jessica Langford of Trenton, who earned her Bachelor of Arts in elementary education, were selected to deliver the farewell address at the Lake City Commencement.
The guest speaker for the Lake City commencement is State Attorney of the Third Judicial Circuit of Florida, Jeffrey Siegmeister (pictured in red tie).

Saturday’s graduates represent a broad range of academic programs. At the undergraduate level, the degrees to be conferred include: the Associate of Arts, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and the Bachelor of Social Work. There are 103 associate and 426 bachelor’s degrees to be awarded.
At the graduate level, 219 Saint Leo students have worked to attain the Master of Business Administration, the Master of Arts in Theology, the Master of Science in Criminal Justice, the Master of Science in Critical Incident Management, the Master of Social Work, and the Master of Science in Instructional Design.
Carl Segar of Virginia Beach, who earned his Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice, was selected to deliver the Class of 2014 farewell address at the Virginia Region Commencement.
Curtis Coy (pictured in front of flags), deputy under secretary for economic opportunity with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, will deliver the guest commencement address to the Virginia Region class.
Saint Leo University has more than 40 teaching locations in seven states – including the education center in Lake City, FL, and six education centers/offices in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
