The Friendship of Adversity (tonight 7 p.m.)
February 20, 2008
Saint Leo University is pleased to present an evening with the
Christian author, inspirational speaker and musician Jennifer
Rothschild at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the new Student
Community Center on University Campus.
Rothschild will speak, sing and play piano during her presentation
"The Friendship of Adversity." A book signing will follow. The
event is free and open to the public, as well.
Rothschild grew up in a Christian family in Miami. She began
pursuing music seriously in her mid-teens, after learning she
suffered from an unusual disease that gradually robbed her of her
sight.
In spite of her blindness – she now has only limited perception of
light – Rothschild pursued her education and began singing at
Christian gatherings. After her graduation from Palm Beach Atlantic
University in West Palm Beach, she married, began a family and
continued with her musical performances.
She began also appearing as a motivational speaker and Bible
teacher. Jennifer Rothschild has recently appeared on several
television shows, and has published four books since 2002. Her
latest title, Self-Talk, Soul Talk: What to Say When You Talk to
Yourself, was released in September, 2007 by Harvest House
Publishers. An excerpt appears on the web site,
www.jenniferrothschild.com.
Her appearance is underwritten by the Saint Leo University
Speakers Series.
