Saint Leo Sponsors Night at the Ballpark
June 22, 2005
Saint Leo University's Sport Management department has announced that it will be a game night sponsor Saturday, July 9th for a match-up between the Zephryhills Snappers and the Daytona Beach Barracudas. The Snappers and Barracudas play in the Florida Collegiate Summer League. The league provides a place for college players to hone their skills using wood bats, used by minor and Major League baseball players, as opposed to aluminum bats used in NCAA play. The games are free for admission and money raised through donors, concessions and merchandise sales helps keep the league alive.
The Snappers are led by Chad Sommers and Daniel Hersey, both are assistant baseball coaches for the Lions. Two SLU students, Cameron O'Connell and Tim Carter serve as the teams general manager interns. The entire Saint Leo University family and their friends are welcomed to come out and show their support for the players. Game time is set for 7 p.m. For more information, contact Dr. Susan Foster at firstname.lastname@example.org.
