Black History Month Events At Main Campus Begin With Sports Discussion

A panel discussion on “The Black Athlete in America,” featuring the history faculty, will take place at 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 1, in the Greenfelder-Denlinger Boardroom of the Student Community Center. A reception will follow.
A showing of the film Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson
Story is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 4, in Selby
Auditorium. Oscar Award winning actor Cuba Gooding Jr. stars in the
title role of Dr. Ben Carson, who overcame numerous obstacles to
become a pediatric neurosurgeon. Gifted Hands is a true and
inspirational story.
Both events, along with more scheduled for this month, are
sponsored by the School of Arts and Sciences to commemorate Black
History Month.
