Undergraduate Certificate - Information Security

University Campus

If you’ve ever had an email account hacked, you know the importance of internet security. Computer networks worldwide hold vital financial, healthcare and legal information that—in the hands of the wrong people—could lead to bankruptcy and lawsuits, or worse. Because every company needs to be connected to a global network, they could use someone like you with training in Information Security to protect their data.

Saint Leo also offers a minor in Information Security. Both the minor and the certificate require 18 credits. The certificate is designed to be taken as a stand-alone qualification in information security, or with any major. The minor can be taken with any major.

As a student in Information Security you will study:

  • Computer hardware, software and networking
  • Theory, design and application of networks
  • Information and physical security in response to natural disasters, terrorist activities and internal subversions
  • Management of information security for government, corporations and other institutions
