Minor - Biology

University Campus

Science propels us to important discoveries. At Saint Leo University, you’ll develop a rigorous understanding of how the world works, and how to improve it—from the smallest level of microbe to the vast scale of tropical ecosystems and supernovas.

Apply your biology knowledge to government, industry, education and other health-related professions, and even pursue graduate study in medicine, dentistry and veterinary science.

Professional development opportunities

  • Internships: Shadow a physician or dentist, work alongside zookeepers, or contribute to cancer research. Biology students have interned at the Department of Environmental Protection, National Institutes of Health Academy, Pittsburgh Zoo, Southwest Florida Water Management District and Moffitt Cancer Center.
  • Volunteer: Connect science with service. Raise money for cancer research, restore oyster reefs in Tampa Bay, and prevent over-harvesting of endangered plants in the Amazon rainforest.
  • Co-curricular activities: Become a member of Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society, Chemistry Club or Student Environmental Awareness.
