BA History - Minor in Education

University Campus

Perhaps you love history because a teacher once brought the Old West to life with tales of the Pony Express and Buffalo Bill. Or maybe you heard Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech, and “equal opportunity” took on new meaning. Now it’s your turn to make history relevant and exciting for the next generation.

Why choose History with an Education Minor at Saint Leo?

Strike a unique balance with interdisciplinary study in History and Education: Explore important ideas from ancient times to the present, and gain new perspective on today’s social, political and economic climate—plus the skills to teach social studies at the secondary level.

Master effective strategies—including emerging technologies—for teaching history to adolescents, including special education, multicultural and at-risk populations. You may opt to complete the full-time internship, where you'll practice working in a high school setting, sharing knowledge of history.

You're in good hands—Saint Leo’s Education department has been named a national finalist for the Distinguished Program in Teacher Education Award, presented by the Association of Teacher Educators.
