Who We Are

The Center for Catholic-Jewish Studies (CCJS) was established at Saint Leo University in 1998 through a formal Memorandum of Agreement between Saint Leo and the American Jewish Committee—one of the oldest Jewish advocacy organizations in the United States.

Open to all, The Center facilitates, coordinates, and integrates teaching, dialogue, and community outreach in the greater Tampa Bay area, the American Southeast, and ultimately the entire nation. The Center affirms the diverse interrelationships and contributions of the world's great monotheistic faiths, as well as numerous other religious communities. The Center provides a creative, cooperative, and flexible environment in which innovative teaching, scholarship, and dialogue can flourish.

Located in deChantal Hall on the Saint Leo University campus, CCJS is the only organization of its kind in the Southeast.

Our Mission

Building mutual respect, understanding, and appreciation among Jews, Catholics, and all people of good will by providing opportunities for interfaith education and dialogue.
