Master of Education in Exceptional Student Education

The Exceptional Student Education program is for those educators who wish to increase their knowledge base in the area of special education. It has been designed to provide the knowledge base needed for general educators who wish to expand their areas of certification.

Course work is offered through a blended format with expectations for assignments to be completed in K-12 schools.

The program will take most students approximately 24 months to complete. Students may enroll in one course per 8-week term, with 1-2 terms taking two courses, totaling twelve to fourteen courses, equal to 36-42 semester hours in the program.

Saint Leo University’s Exceptional Student Education program has been designed to provide educators values, knowledge base, skills that will empower them to be educational leaders with vision, engaged in the process of continual professional growth and collaborative reform.

Additionally, the Exceptional Student Education program offers an 18-credit hour Graduate Certificate. Students who are interested in earning this certificate can take classes with degree-seeking students while developing needed skills to be an effective teacher.
